HOW TO CHOOSE THE PERFECT LIPSTICK
Unsure of what shade of lipstick will make your lips pop out? Finding the perfect lipstick doesn’t have to be the challenge we put it up to be.
One thing I know for sure is that there’s no such thing as “the shade that works for everyone!”
Instead of spending hours in your local drug store and leaving with a empty bag but a forearm full of lipstick swads, check this lipstick guide on choosing the perfect lipstick. Enjoy!
First of all, before finding the perfect lipstick, you have to know two things:
the undertone of your skin
the tint that will make it stand out
Wondering what a undertone is? It’s just your incarnate, your basic color. Your natural undertone. There are three types: warm, cold, neutral.
To understand what category you belong to, you have to check the color of your veins. All you gotta do is just turn your wrist and look carefully:
If the color of your veins is blue or purplish, your undertone is cold
If the color of your veins is greenish, your undertone is warm
If your veins have both of these colors, your undertone is neutral
You could also do this by determining your complexion: fair, light, medium, tan, deep. Examine your skin in natural lighting and decide where your skin fits.
Another way of determining the skin type is by trying on gold and silver jewelry. Which looks better?
Gold jewelry looks best with warm skin tones.
Silver jewelry looks best on cool skin tones.
Both look good on a more neutral skin tone. This can be a good “tie breaker” if you don’t clearly meet the criteria listed already.
Choosing the perfect lipstick:
If your undertone is cold: The perfect colors for you are cold pink, pinkish nude and dark pinkish. Forbidden the orange.
If your undertone is warm: The perfect colors for you are orange, coral red, nude peach and brick red. Forbidden the cold pink.
RED LIPSTICK | not all the reds are the same
Not all the reds are the same, you have to choose the perfect red lipstick by the undertone of your skin.
Red with blue pigments is ideal for a cold undertone .
While an orange red shade is good for a warm undertone.
With a neutral undertone is possible to choose plum or berries/soft fruits red
If your undertone is neutral: basically, you can wear all the colors you want, but there’s always a dominant undertone trend, given by the color of the eyes or the hair. If you have a colder one, you can use browns and plum; on the other hand, if you have a warmer undertone you can use oranges and red pope.
That wraps up this post about how to choose the perfect lipstick for yourself and rock it.
